Memberships and Affiliations

Responsive Translation is a proud member of the American Translators Association (ATA), the Globalization and Localization Association (GALA), the Association of Test Publishers (ATP) and the International Test Commission (ITC). This involvement helps us contribute to the translation and testing communities and learn from others.

We believe that professional development and community participation, along with our larger commitment to continuous quality improvement, are important components of our business, our support for our clients and our success.

Association of Test Publishers (ATP)

The Association of Test Publishers promotes the value of testing and the integrity of professional assessments used in education, clinical healthcare, clinical research, employee selection, certification, licensing and other areas.

At one of ATP’s Innovations in Testing conferences, Responsive Translation’s COO Kenneth Richard Clark enjoyed the opportunity to present on the topic of “Translating Beyond Accommodation: A Case Study on the Adaptation of Test Content for New Groups and New Instruments” together with Adam Withycombe.

International Test Commission (ITC)

The International Test Commission is an association dedicated to advancing the professional practice of test development and promoting quality standards in testing, including best practices for developing, measuring and administering assessments for educational and psychological purposes. We particularly value their efforts concerning assessments for diverse populations, including different cultural and linguistic audiences.

All of Responsive Translation’s testing work is guided by two of the International Test Commission’s publications: “ITC Guidelines for Translating and Adapting Tests” and “ITC Guidelines for the Large-Scale Assessment of Linguistically and Culturally Diverse Populations.”

American Translators Association (ATA)

The American Translators Association is a professional organization for translators, interpreters and language service providers. They offer professional development resources and opportunities for linguists, and administer the ATA Certification Program for translators.

Most of the linguists we work with are members of the American Translators Association.

Globalization and Localization Association (GALA)

The Globalization and Localization Association is a trade association for language service providers. They aim to strengthen the language industry and help companies serve markets worldwide.

It’s a small world after all.
