Certified Translation Services

Discover what certified translation services are and what to look for when you need them.

Here at Responsive Translation we’re often asked if we provide certified translation services. The answer is a resounding yes! Responsive Translation offers certified translation services in more than 90 languages, and we are also a certified translation company.

What Is Certified Translation?

In the United States, a certified translation is a written translation that is accompanied by a certificate of accuracy or other certification statement. The certificate can be provided by the original translator, an employee at the translation company the translator works for, or a third-party reviewer.

In all cases, the certificate should attest to the translation’s completeness and accuracy, specify the role of the person signing the certificate, and be signed and dated. It is also common to list the translator’s qualifications, name or describe the original document that was translated, and list the language pairs (the original source language and the target language, such as Greek to English).

Responsive Translation provides certificates of accuracy free of charge to our clients upon request. Depending on end-user requirements, we can also provide custom certificates and notarization. We’re a one-stop shop for foreign-language services, and we’re always happy to work with our clients to meet or exceed their expectations.

What Are Certified Translations Used For?

Certified translations are commonly required when more than one language is involved during an official process. The certified translation is used as supporting documentation so that the decision makers can make a more informed decision. Examples include government procedures like applying for an immigration visa, legal proceedings such as a divorce, when seeking medical care abroad and filing a patent.

Responsive Translation can provide certified translation services for all matters related to medical care, civil and criminal proceedings, education, human resources, immigration, insurance, patents, M&A and others.

What Should I Look for in a Provider of Certified Translation Services?

Three of the most important things when you’re evaluating a provider of certified translation services include: availability, professionalism and experience.

Availability: Does the provider offer certified translation services in the language pairs (and dialects) you need? What is their turnaround time? Can they meet your deadline?

Professionalism: Does the provider offer professional translation services? What is their process? Is the confidentiality of your documents assured?

Experience: Does the provider have documented experience in providing certified translation? Has their certified translation always been accepted by end users?

Responsive Translation has been providing certified translation services in a variety of fields for more than three decades. We have a trusted and tested network of professional linguists and subject matter experts who work in 90 languages.
